Less than a week after the launch of season 2, Starz has just announced the renewal of the series for a third batch of episodes, with a new showrunner at their head. According to an information of the website Deadline , American Gods has just been renewed for a third season by Starz, less than a week after the launch of season 2 in the United States and internationally on Amazon Prime. The series critically acclaimed, adapted from the novels of Neil Gaiman, sees himself for the occasion credited with a new showrunner Charles “Chic” Eglee, who succeeds Bryan Fuller (Hannibal), Michael Green, Jesse Alexander to the position where the changes have been frequent, for budget issues. Author and associate producer, Eglee is known for his work on Dexter, Dark Angel and more recently The Walking Dead, but it is particularly recognised for his great contribution to the police series The Shield created by Shawn Ryan and aired from 2002 to 2008 on FX. The decision to recruit on American Gods as a showrunner, less than a week after the launch of season 2 on Starz, has been narrated by Neil Gaiman in a press release : “Chic is the best accomplice possible. It’s been several weeks that we are working on the shape of this season, and I am delighted that he can continue to pass the torch to American Gods.
